Our Proven Lawn Hydroseeding Process

2. Mixing the Custom Hydroseed Slurry We don’t use a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Inside our hydroseeding tanks, we agitate a specialized mixture known as a “slurry.” This customized blend contains:

Hydroseed Aftercare: How to Maintain Your New Lawn
One of the biggest advantages of hydroseeding is rapid germination—you will often see green shoots in as little as 7 to 14 days! However, the first month is critical. Follow these simple aftercare steps to ensure your spray-on lawn establishes a deep, healthy root system.
Watering is Critical: Your new hydroseeded lawn must be kept constantly moist, but not muddy. For the first 2 to 3 weeks, lightly water the area 2 to 3 times a day, depending on the weather. Once the grass is roughly 5cm tall, you can reduce watering to once a day.
Stay Off the Grass: Keep pets, children, and heavy foot traffic off the newly seeded area for at least 3 to 4 weeks. Walking on the damp slurry can compact the soil and create bald spots.
Your First Mow: You can give your new lawn its first cut when the grass blades reach about 7cm to 8cm tall (usually around week 4 or 5). Ensure your mower blades are sharp, and never cut off more than one-third of the grass height at a time.
Ongoing Feeding: The initial slurry contains starter fertilizer to get the grass growing. After about 6 to 8 weeks, we recommend applying a balanced lawn fertilizer to keep your new turf thick, green, and weed-resistant.
